Handmade Mysteries

Handmade Mysteries run immersive escape room game experiences across London and Brighton. You and your team have to solve a series of puzzles, to claim your prize. They are silly, rude, well done and i’m also no good at them. They approached Crush to give them a strong identity that would give them standout and credibility in a saturated market.

The storylines that the games play out and the rooms that the games take place in are a cornucopia of kitsch Victoriana. The rooms are filled to the brim with Antiques, dolls, skulls, games and jewels - some of which are important to the games, some red herrings.

For the identity we knew that we wanted to represent this, but also twist it. The engraving styled illustrations and vintage type work well, but it’s the more modern trippy hand drawn elements that make the identity sing. We went on to create a series a icons, patterns and posters.
